Maningrida Translation Centre
Maningrida is a large Aboriginal Town where eleven languages are spoken. With support from the Kunibídji Traditional Owners and the Elders of the Maningrida and West Arnhemland Uniting Church, The Maningrida Bible Translation Centre was opened in September 2023.
The centre is made up of a workshop space which should comfortably fit twenty participants and there is an attached one twin bedroom unit for staff which includes a small kitchen with fridge, microwave and small electric hotplate, table and chairs. There are male and female bathroom facilities. A locked storage container for teaching equipment is located outside.
The centre is built on the Uniting Church House block with a view to the bay and an outside shade area. It is situated next to Maningrida Aged Care and near to the Barge Landing. Within walking distance of the Church, School, a shop with takeaway and the clinic.
Maningrida Arts and Culture next to the Airport, Barrbarra Womens’ Centre and the Djómi Museum are local places of interest and dinner is served regularly at Dhukurrdji Lodge.
Price list
Unit only: $60 daily / $300 weekly
Workshop only: $140 daily / $700 weekly
Workshop and Unit: $200 daily / $1000 weekly
